Two Weeks...

Two weeks of school are now over, and what do I have to show for it?

A whole BUNCH of math problems. … bleh.

I needed to blog because boy did I need a break from studying.

Right now I am enjoying a Pumpkin Jamba… so, so good. 

Also, I'm thinking about the TWINS that are coming any day!!!! Couldn't be more excited!

Now back to math for about 4 hours until I go take a timed 2 hour test… then a real break!!!

Dad's First Time Baking!

Dad decided today that he wanted to have a reputation as being an outstanding baker. To accomplishing this feat he thought he should start by baking something. Good idea, right? Well one would think you would start out with box brownies, or chocolate chip cookies. Not dad, he chose to make homemade raisin filed cookies for his first try. 

No surprise - they turned out amazing! They took forever though, but job well done dad! Probably the best raisin filled cookies we've ever eaten! (You were also very entertaining to watch while baking for the first time!) 

Needless to say, my father is AMAZING!

Hi… My name is Ali...

…and I'm a TV-aholic.

It's true.
So basically I used to watch too much TV since I get done working at around oh… 12. 


I've since cut back to 3 shows. Huge, Pretty Little Liars, and Prison Break. 


Yesterday I finished Prison Break. Loved it.


Today was Huge, and I made this post because I loved this quote from it.

"Getting what we always wanted, can sometimes be very scary. It's often, just as things are going really well, that we will sabotage ourselves. So just be aware. There may be a self destructive part of us that doesn't want us to get better, that's more comfortable with pain. So remember, the more willing we are to look at this destructive part of ourselves, the less power it will have over us."

Even though this was in reference to losing weight… I think it can apply to a lot of things. Maybe I can learn something from my addiction? (Ok, probably not.)

Guiltiest Pleasure

I can say without a doubt, that these are my guiltiest pleasure! Mint Chocolate Tuffles. It makes me sad to think that my favorite chocolate foundry is in Sun Valley Idaho, and I will not be going this year. First time in 20 years. No one makes a mint truffle as good as the 'candy shop.' This week however, the ones from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory have done just fine!

A Little Bit of Lately

Friday night I did pulled pork sandwiches ...

I thought they were pretty good, but in the oh so tender words of Chase "they have too many vegetables." ... So there you have it. 

Saturday I decided to do breakfast, so what did I choose?

These little muffin's ... there were a couple that got eaten before I could take the picture! ... They all disappeared, so I took that as a good sign!

Today, because of the dreary weather we have been having, my mother suggested I go for some soup. 

...and it was seriously the best soup EVER! I was quite proud of it. Remi Mae helped me with it, so maybe she has the special touch or something... what ever it was, it was gooood! (oh, and it called for *minced* garlic... good thing I know what the word minced means :] ) ... If you would like the recipes for any of these, let me know! So worth it on the soup...

Also ... today is AUNT CELIAS BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday Aunt C. :) LOVE YOU!

and ... DAD get's home tomorrow! I can't wait!

Dinner!

So ... I've decided to cook dinner for the family for the next little while! and I also decided I'm going to post a picture of it when it looks good!

So, as Chase and I are the only children home this week, I got to thinking.. I was taking finals on his Birthday and I didn't post about him! 

So here is to Chase - The absolute BEST brother in the ENTIRE world. 

What a stud - I'm so lucky to have him as a brother!

Fablehaven

I'm excited to post about the next book that I've read. Fablehaven. 

Much to my surprise, I loved it! The book was nothing like I expected - in fact it exceeded all expectations. It was so entertaining, with a great story line and some very lovable characters. I'm really excited to read the next books in the series! What a good find, I'm glad I allowed myself to read it. You probably should read it too!

Stargirl

My cousin Cooper and I have a little competition going - to see who can read the most pages this summer. I am NOT about to loose to an 8 year old, however I have a little feeling this competition is his... He is a good little reader!

Point of this story? I decided to post all of the books I read this summer. Starting with this one.

It is such a goody. I've read it more than once, and I still love it. It is a good reminder to be who you are. No matter what other people think.

Sugar Cookies!

Last Saturday I felt like I wanted to be ambitious. How ambitious? I made sugar cookies from scratch, by myself. THAT ambitious.

(o.k. so Kacyann helped a lot)

Anyway - it was the day of the big game and so I thought I would whip some nice sun's jersey's out for Shawn, and I don't think I did too bad!

Maybe if I ever decide this math thing isn't for me (HA... like that will ever happen ;) ) ... I could open a bakery! Only problem? I probably should learn to bake before I do that!

As I'm getting back into the swing of things and re-creating a summer work out routine, I'm realizing how much I miss this place.

*Working out here is definitely something I am looking forward to when I have to leave Provo and head back up to Idaho.

So, since lately I've been trying to think of fun things to do. I ended up coming up with a long list. It's a great list too. 

One of the things on the list was sugar cookies - blog post to come on those when I have a minute to upload the pictures. 

As for now, I would like you to wrack your brain and think back to the good old days of RAZOR SCOOTERS! Remember how great these little babies were???

Well... I certainly do! 

And that is why I bought one tonight.

Speeding down 9th East at 12:30 a.m. ... YES please. 

Do yourself the favor, and go purchase one for old times sake. You won't regret it!
